PAINT SCHEME
GATECLAW Road Spikes are supplied finished in a durable weatherproof finish designed to handle both high and low-temperature conditions, resistant to tyre wear and environmental conditions such as sand and grit, sunlight and salt air environments. The top plate is made from a 5mm durbar plate providing adequate tyre grip in wet or icing conditions.
PAINT SPECIFICATION
Top plate: 250micron(av) Heavy Duty Black Polyurethene
Base unit: Galvanised 280g/m2
Claws: 150micron(av) 4-stage paint, inc base primer, High Vis Glocote Fluorescent yellow finish.
NOISE / IMPACT SURPRESSION
Four/Six DC20 Black Neoprene Rubber 70°sh damper pads, 150mm x 150mm x 4mm with 15mm diameter holes are supplied with each unit to assist in shock absorption and reducing traffic impact noise. Internally the unit is fitted with a spring-loaded impact damping system.
TESTING
GATECLAW Road Spikes have been tested on multiple vehicle types and tyre systems including run-flat tyres, deep tread tyres and vehicles ranging from domestic saloons to multiple axle commercial HGV’s at speeds of up to 30mph, however, 3mph/5kph is the suggested normal transiting speed.
VEHICLE RESTRICTIONS
High-performance sports cars or vehicles with lowered suspension with a ground clearance of less then 5″/125mm in addition to tyre damage may suffer damage to the vehicle undersides if the GATECLAW is transited in the active or locked up mode, speeds exceeding 3mph/5kph should be avoided to prevent a reduction in the vehicle ground clearance. GATECLAW IG 1000 has no ground clearance restrictions.
SIGNAGE
Each facility generally has its own unique set of circumstances and means of application. Warning signage is advised in both directions alerting the vehicles to the presence of the GATECLAW, the restrictions on that particular lane or direction. We also advise that 3mph/5kph maximum speed signs are erected in advance of the traffic spikes and the units are placed in well illuminated or visible locations.
FITTING
GATECLAW units are placed against each other and bolted to the road surface using M12 anchor/through bolts, there is no mechanical link between each system.

Covers mechanical properties and components, excludes paint and finish or damage occurred due to misuse. Shipping at clients cost.
